Medial geniculate body

The medial geniculate body relays information between the inferior colliculus and the auditory cortex. It contains sub-nuclei with various neuronal morphologies and densities, afferent and efferents, and neuronal coding patterns. Beyond auditory information, the medial geniculate body may also be involved with the direction and maintenance of attention.
