Lateral geniculate body

The lateral geniculate nucleus is a part of the thalamic sensory relay system. There is one nucleus in each hemisphere, positioned near the rear end of the thalamus. All visual information leaving the retina  is relayed through the lateral geniculate body to the primary visual cortex. Each nucleus receives information from the opposite visual field
