Medial preoptic nucleus

The medial preoptic nucleus is the largest collection of preoptic area neurons. It is involved with regulation of cardiovascular function, body temperature regulation, fluid balance and water intake, and reproductive and parental behavior. Is it often divided into subnuclei and known as the sexually dimorphic nucleus, as it has been found to be larger in males than females.
