Tuberal hypothalamus

The tuberal hypothalamus is the middle region of the hypothalamus.  The other two regions include the supraoptic (anterior) and mammillary (posterior). It can be subdivided into medial and lateral areas. The ventromedial nucleus is the largest nuclei in the region, which regulates eating habits. Other functions regulated include blood pressure, heart rate, satiety and gastrointestinal stimulation.
