Neurohypophysis

The neurohypophysis is the neural part of the pituitary gland. Neurons in the region produce vasopressin/antidiuretic hormone and oxytocin in the supraoptic nucleus and paraventricular nucleus. Axons project to the median eminence and hypothalamic infundibulum of the pituitary stalk.
