Olfactory tubercle

The olfactory tubercle is a region located caudal to the retrobulbar region of the anterior perforate substance. It is heavily reduced in the human brain compared to other mammals, even other primates. Together with the nucleus accumbens, this region makes up the nucleus accumbens. It receives monosynaptic input from the olfactory bulb, transforming odor information into relevant neural code.
