The frontal lobe is a part of the cerebral cortex that is responsible for executive function among other human characteristics such as planning, language, emotional control, reasoning and personality. The frontal lobe makes up one third of the cerebral cortex and has increased in size throughout evolution The motor cortex is located in the frontal lobe. Damage to the frontal lobe causes changes in cognition, attention and decision making.
