Vestibulocochlear (VIII)

The vestibulocochlear nerve is a sensory nerve comprising of a cochlear portion and a vestibular. The cochlear functions in hearing while vestibular plays a role in balance. The sensory nerve originates from the receptors in the ear to the postcentral gyrus and auditory cortex.
