Lateral ventricles

One per brain hemisphere with choroid plexus producing CSF. 

Anterior horn Jutting of each lateral ventricle from interventricular foramen into frontal lobe. Rostrum of corpus callosum below, anterior septum pellucidum located medially, head of caudate is laterally.  

Body of lateral ventricle Extends from interventricular foramen to splenium of corpus callosum. Under surface of corpus callosum lies above, caudate nucleus, stria terminalis, lateral thalamus, choroid plexus, lateral fornix is below, and posterior septum pellucidum is medially.

Inferior horn Jutting of lateral ventricle into temporal lobe. Extends with hippocampus laterally and contains choroid plexus.

Posterior horn Jutting of each lateral ventricle into occipital lobe.
