Cistern of lamina terminalis

Located in the subarachnoid space, the cistern of lamina terminalis lies anterior to the lamina terminalis and anterior commissure. The lamina terminalis lies posterior, forming the anterior wall of the third ventricle and anterior boundary of the hypothalamus. The cistern of lamina terminalis contains cerebrospinal fluid, the anterior cerebral artery, and anterior communicating artery. It also connects the chiasmatic cistern to the pericallosal cistern.
