The constructions “མ་ + Verb + རང་ + Verb” and “མ་ + Verb + ཀ་མེད་” mean that the subject has to perform an action and has no choice in the matter. They are commonly used in Spoken Tibetan. Both may be followed by the verb རེད་.

• ང་རང་གཟུགས་པོ་ཡག་པོ་མེད་ཙང་དགོངས་པ་མ་ཞུ་རང་ཞུ་རེད། “Since I’m not well, I have no option but to leave.”
• མོ་ཊ་སྐྱོན་ཤོར་ཙང་འབྲོག་པའི་རྩ་ལ་མ་ཕྱིན་རང་ཕྱིན། “Since the car broke down, we had no choice but to visit the nomads.”
• ཚང་མས་ཨུ་ཚུགས་བརྒྱབ་ཙང་ངས་གཞས་མ་བཏང་རང་བཏང་བྱུང་སོང་། “Because everyone insisted, I had no choice but to sing.”
• ཁོང་གིས་ལས་ཀ་ཡག་པོ་མ་བྱས་ཙང་འགོ་འཁྲིད་ཀྱིས་གཤེ་གཤེ་མ་བཏང་ཀ་མེད་བྱུང་སོང༌། “Because he didn’t do the work well, the boss had no choice but to scold him.”
