The marker ལས་ may precede a verb, in which case it is translated by “more than”:

• སྐར་མ་ཉི་ཤུ་ཙམ་ལས་འགོར་གྱི་མ་རེད། “That won’t take more than twenty minutes.”
• དེ་དུས་ཁོང་དགུང་ལོ་བརྒྱད་ལས་ཕེབས་ཡོད་མ་རེད། “At that time he wasn’t more than eight years old.”
