Hearsay
“Hearsay” is formulated directly without introducing a speaker, citing and closing the assertion with the marker ཟ་ “it is said that,” or ཟེར་གྱི་ཟ་. “X is said to have said that…,” “X allegedly said that…”
- ཁོང་ཨེམ་ཆི་རེད་ཟ། “They say he’s a doctor.”
- བོད་ལ་གསེར་མང་པོ་ཡོད་རེད་ཟ། “There’s said to be a lot of gold in Tibet.”
- བཀྲ་ཤིས་ལགས་རྒྱ་གར་ལ་ཕེབས་པ་རེད་ཟེར་གྱི་ཟ། “Apparently he said that Trashi had gone to India.”
