The Functions of རྒྱུ་

Verbs followed by the nominalizer རྒྱུ་ correspond to the future or the imperfective, often with a sense of obligation. The functions of the nominalizer རྒྱུ་ are analogous to those of ཡག་, though it has more formal, and rather literary, overtones.

I’ve forgotten to bring the book.”
There are many small monasteries to visit.”
