Iconographic drawings deals with the creating of Buddhist figures in fine arts. It includes skills in iconometry and mensuration, line drawing and painting of the Buddhist human and celestial deity figures, their hand implements and the symbols and motifs around them. The subjects of such painting includes historical figures, peaceful and wrathful deities, animal headed deities and spirits, etc. The Bhutanese temple wall paintings and thangka hangings are outcomes of this art.
