The menrak vessel is used as container for the medicinal and rakta substance during tantric rituals. The containers are made of bronze, copper or silver and has the shape of a skull as the original and preferred container is a skull. That is why the bronze ones are called thoedzu or fake skull. The skull shaped container rests on three props which symbolize the three enlightened forms of the Buddha.
