Tsharshog Paper

The art of making paper is an old tradition in Bhutan and many people still carry on this practice. Paper making was not practised by the general population but taken up exclusively by some member of the society who have the skills. In the case of the Tsharshog type of paper, the pulp which is prepared for paper making is spread on a bamboo (tshar) mold or sieve. This type of mold can be made from bamboo, reed or some other grasses.
