Bamboo Offering Utensil

Bamboo is a common raw material for making many household artefacts. A wide range of items for religious purposes are made from bamboo and cane of different varieties. Plates and bowls for offering food and fruits in the Bhutanese family shrineroom are made from bamboo and cane as are containers for incense and cases for religious musical instruments. The tips of oboes are made of a reed and the sticks for beating the ritual drums are made from a cane. The ritual arrow for longevitiy is also made from bamboo.
