Bargaining

Bhutanese people are used to bargaining in a commercial transaction. With no stores or shops with fixed price labels in the past, people negotiated the prices for the goods during transactions. Some persausive sellers and buyers are very good at convincing their counterparts using impressive forms of speech or pieces of information to reach a good price for the items they are selling or buying. During the bargain, people offer gifts, give food or make pleas, especially in the case of large transactions such as selling a piece of land or livestock.
