The Chepang are an ethnic group of Nepal who speak a Tibeto-Burman language of the same name. According to the 2001 census of Nepal, 36,807 people speak Chepang as a mother tongue and there are 52,237 ethnic Chepang. (Mark Turin – June 01, 2004)
