Mon Dialect

Monkha or Olekha is spoken among the Monpa ethnic group in the lower slopes of Jowo Durshing range in Tongsa and Rukha village in Wangdi district on the other side of Jowo Durshing. The inhabitants are thought to be early settlers in Bhutan. The Mon dialect is spoken by the Monpa people who are in the Mon villages in Tongsa district.
