Hardship Story
Most Bhutanese before modern development lived lives full of hardship and struggles. Stories of personal difficulties during childhood and upbringing, ofdeprivations and injustice, and of misfortunes and tragedies are commonly told by the ordinary Bhutanese. The story tellers may tell their own sad accounts or narrate the hardship faced by another person. Most of these stories are passed down orally and were not written until today, when more and more people are putting down such stories into writing in English.
