Uchupai Zhey

The song and dance of Uchu is performed by the men of Uchu village in Paro. The village is well known for its community of craftsman who are experts at blacksmithery and metal work. The men wear a white gown with black jacket and have the scarf of courtier wrapped around their shoulder. They wear traditional boots and have a wreath of willow branches on their head. The song and dance has many chapters. Like most other zheys, the lyrics of Dra-nyen Chozhey dwell on religious topics and is performed only during formal public and official occasions and not during all festive events.
