Drinking Song

The Bhutanese, particularly in the eastern districts, are very strong drinkers. Alcohol is produced at home and then served to the guests. During festive occasions, the alcohol is served in large gathering and a song is sung often as a words of offering the alcohol to the deities, spiritual masters and important guests. Such songs are also used to encourage people to drink more. There are a few popular alcohol songs which are sung in many parts of Bhutan. Both men and women drink and also sing the drinking songs.
