Support Ritual
Some festivals in Bhutan are rituals of thanksgiving to the protector deities and gods. The family or the community hold several days of rituals both the make amends for failures and make offerings of gratitude for the blessings in life. During such festival of thanksgiving, the people make offerings of their wealth by having a sample of their main properties such as a food, drink, clothes and also a cow, yak, horse, sheep, chicken, dog, etc. These animals are included in the file of things being offered but they are not sacrificed or forsaken after the ritual. The samples of wealth and livestock are merely symbolic offerings made to the deities and gods.
