Subject-Area Specialist
Subject-area specialists refer to individuals with advanced training in the instruction and promotion of particular content areas, such as reading or math. Subject-area specialists work to improve students’ academic capacities by acting as teachers, one-on-one tutors, and directors of school-wide programs. Subject-area specialists work with students both within the students’ daily classrooms and in separate classrooms. Subject-area specialists also offer professional development to other teachers to help them improve their instruction.
