Supplementary motor cortex

The supplementary motor cortex, also known as the secondary motor area,  is a somatotopically-organized map that plans complex movement such as using both hands simultaneously and limb movement. The caudal portion of the supplementary motor cortex projects to the primary motor cortex and spinal cord while the rostral part gets input from the prefrontal cortex and cingulate cortex.
