Medial superior temporal area (MST)

The medial superior temporal area is the primary source for visual motion information. It is part of the cerebral cortex and serves as input for the motor control of eye movements such as pursuit and saccades. The medial superior temporal area projects to supplementary eye fields and lesions cause blind spots for motion.
