Globose nucleus

Deep cerebellar nuclei located medial to the emboliform nucleus and lateral to the fastigial nucleus. It contains primarily large and small multipolar neurons and is associated with the spinocerebellum. The globose and emboliform nuclei are sometimes collectively referred to as the interposed nucleus. Efferent projections influence the corticospinal tracts via the ventrolateral thalamic nuclei. Input to the interposed nuclei is from spinocerebellar afferents through the intermediate hemispheres of the cerebellum.
