Emboliform nucleus

Wedge-shaped deep cerebellar nucleus (gray matter) that lies medial to the dentate nucleus. Neurons are structured similarly to those of the dentate nucleus. Functionally, the emboliform nucleus participates in the spinocerebellum to regulate precision of movements. Efferent projections exit through the superior cerebellar peduncle to the red nucleus and other thalamic nuclei that control limb movement.
