Affective Constructions

In affective constructions, the subject is in the absolutive and the object in the dative. The construction is governed mainly by verbs of feeling such as དགའ་ “to like,” ཞེད་ “to be afraid,” ཚིག་པ་ཟ་ “to get angry,” ཧ་ལས་ “to be amazed,” etc.

ཚེ་རིང་རྟ་ལ་ཞེད་པ་རེད། “Tsering was afraid of the horse.”
