When the complement of the subject is a substantive (equative sense), Tibetan uses the following verbs: ཆགས་ཀྱི་རེད་ or བྱེད་ཀྱི་རེད་.

• ཁོང་ཨེམ་ཆི་བྱེད་ཀྱི་རེད། “He/she will be a doctor.”
• མོ་རང་ནད་གཡོག་ཆགས་ཀྱི་རེད། “She will be a nurse.”

When the complement of the subject is an adjective, the following verbs are used: ཆགས་ཀྱི་རེད་ or ཡོང་གི་རེད་.

• ལས་སླ་པོ་ཡོང་གི་རེད། “It will be easy.”
• སྐྱིད་པོ་ཆགས་ཀྱི་རེད། “It will be pleasant.”

If the gradual process of the future is to be stressed, the form ཆགས་ཡོང་གི་རེད་ is also used:

• སྔོན་པོ་ཆགས་ཡོང་གི་རེད། “It will turn blue.”
